If you’re searching for LGBTQ+ friendly wedding venues in Seattle, let me introduce you to The Ruins, one of the most unique and inclusive wedding venues in the city. Nestled in the heart of Seattle, this eclectic, vintage-inspired space was the perfect backdrop for Melanie & Lyndsay’s unforgettable wedding day. Their celebration was full of raw emotion, incredible energy, and personal touches that made it uniquely them.
From a heartfelt first look to jaw-dropping drag queen performances to an epic afterparty in Capitol Hill, this wedding had it all. If you’re planning a wedding in Seattle, Washington, and want a venue that embraces diversity and love in every form, The Ruins might be the perfect place for you.
Melanie & Lyndsay’s journey to their wedding day was nothing short of extraordinary. Within just three months, they:
✔️ Moved into a bigger apartment
✔️ Navigated a traumatic head injury
✔️ Endured two rounds of COVID-19
✔️ Planned their dream wedding in just 56 days
Despite the whirlwind, they wouldn’t have had it any other way. As Melanie put it:
“We focused on love, and it got us through every wave of emotion. I couldn’t be more blessed and proud to call you my wife.”
Originally, they planned to elope on a mountain and host a reception later, but fate had other plans. Their wedding at The Ruins turned out to be exactly what it was meant to be. An intimate, joyful, and deeply meaningful celebration.
One of the most sought-after Seattle wedding venues, The Ruins is a hidden gem that blends vintage charm with artistic elegance. This venue is perfect for LGBTQ+ weddings because of its warm, inclusive atmosphere and flexible event spaces.
Inclusive & Welcoming: The Ruins embraces couples of all backgrounds and identities, making it a safe and celebratory space for LGBTQ+ weddings in Seattle.
Gorgeous & Versatile Spaces: Melanie & Lyndsay used the cozy dining room for their ceremony, creating an intimate setting filled with emotion. Later, they transformed the grand ballroom into a lively dance floor for their epic reception (I mean, really perfect for killer drag queen performances).
Attached Speakeasy: A hidden speakeasy added a unique, moody vibe to their wedding day, giving the couple a private escape amid the excitement (Unlisted Speakeasy is super warm and welcoming to LGBT+ couples and were so excited to have Melanie & Lyndsay come in).
Vintage & Artistic Aesthetic: The eclectic decor, bold colors, and antique details make this one of the most unique wedding venues in Seattle. It allows and encourages all the unique, weird, quirky, daring, and wildest dreams.
For couples looking for LGBTQ+ friendly wedding venues in Seattle with a mix of vintage elegance and modern fun, The Ruins is an incredible choice.
Melanie & Lyndsay’s wedding was packed with unforgettable moments:
Before the ceremony, the couple shared an intimate first look, filled with tears, laughter, and pure love. It was one of those moments that made the whole day feel even more special.
Instead of just traditional vows, Melanie & Lyndsay wrote their own, filled with inside jokes, deep emotions, and promises that left every guest (and me!) in tears.
The reception featured stunning drag performances, bringing an electrifying energy to the celebration. Everyone was on their feet, cheering and dancing along!
Thanks to Orion Entertainment, the dance floor was packed all night. David & Austin knew exactly how to bring the hype, making it one of the most energetic receptions I’ve ever filmed.
One of the most unique parts of The Ruins is its attached speakeasy called Unlisted, which gave Melanie & Lyndsay a quiet, romantic moment before heading back to the dance floor.
As the night ended, the couple ran through a tunnel of bubbles, hopped into a limo, and rode off with the Seattle Space Needle glowing behind them—so classy, so iconic.
Because the night wasn’t over yet! After the reception, the newlyweds and their friends headed to Capitol Hill, stopping at:
The Wild Rose – Seattle’s legendary lesbian bar
The Unicorn – A quirky, carnival-themed bar
Voodoo Doughnuts – Because every epic night needs late-night snacks
A wedding this incredible wouldn’t be possible without a top-tier vendor team who brought Melanie & Lyndsay’s vision to life:
