Nathalie and Harry’s wedding at the UW Center for Urban Horticulture was colorful, wildly personal, and packed with the kind of details you could spend hours discovering. Surrounded by gardens and greenery in Seattle, they turned the venue into a completely immersive little world filled with nostalgia, games, flowers, sports, movies, and pieces of their story everywhere you looked.
From the very start of the day, it was clear that Nathalie and Harry were going to have a wedding day that was going to be them in every possible way.
A Colorful Wedding at the UW Center for Urban Horticulture
Set at the lush and blooming UW Center for Urban Horticulture in Seattle, their day felt like stepping into a living, breathing love story. The gardens and greenhouse spaces gave them this incredible backdrop of greenery while flowers exploded everywhere throughout the celebration. Every detail felt intentional, quirky, and deeply personal.
And the details!!!
A life-sized crossword puzzle, custom made by a New York Times crossword writer, invited guests to play, connect, and be part of their story. An old hutch filled with postcards turned into a seating chart that felt like digging through memories. Their ceremony was held in a circle around the fountain, surrounding them with their people in the most intimate, connected way.
This is exactly what I love about filming weddings in Seattle: taking an incredible space and watching a couple completely transform it into something that could only belong to them.
They created a “Tunnel of Love” with a full movie-theater setup, they built a nostalgic sports bar filled with old tube TVs playing Mariners games, layered with childhood photos of Nathalie and Harry in their own sports eras.
There were churros. There was dancing under glowing glass ceilings.
The most vibrant rainbow stretched across the sky, and Nathalie & Harry ran beneath it, soaking in a moment that felt almost too perfect to be real.
This is a world they built together that is playful, intentional, nostalgic, joyful, and completely unapologetic in its adorableness.
This was the kind of day that reminds you what weddings can be when you let them reflect exactly who you are.
Nathalie & Harry, this was magic, and so are you. Cheers to many more years of running under rainbows.
Want to see a completely different kind of Seattle wedding? Brittany & Mark’s Block 41 wedding traded gardens and greenery for a downtown industrial space, and one seriously fun party.

If you’re getting married at the UW Center for Urban Horticulture or somewhere else around Seattle and the PNW, I want to hear what you’re dreaming up. Give me the weird traditions, the sentimental details, the games, the nostalgia, the questionable dance moves, and everything that makes your wedding unmistakably yours.
