Kurt and Dan created a wedding day that felt like stepping into a painting.
Kurt and Dan’s Seattle Art Museum wedding was one of those celebrations where the venue, design, and couple felt completely inseparable. Located in the heart of downtown Seattle, SAM gave them a setting that felt bold, artistic, and anything but traditional. As a Seattle wedding videographer, these are exactly the kinds of celebrations I love filming: personal, visually incredible, and completely their own.
Inspired by the richness and depth of Dutch artwork, their celebration was filled with dark, moody tones layered with vibrant pops of color. Every detail felt intentional, from the florals and place settings to the lighting, cake, and the way they and their guests dressed. It all came together in a way that felt romantic, artistic, and completely true to who they are.
A Wedding Reception at the Seattle Art Museum
Hosting their reception at the Seattle Art Museum made everything feel even more immersive. At one point during the evening, they spent time in front of a Dutch painting, taking it all in together. It was such a quiet, beautiful moment in the middle of an already incredible day.
For couples who want an art-filled Seattle wedding but are exploring different styles of venues, I also loved filming Melanie & Lyndsay’s wedding at The Ruins, an eclectic, vintage-inspired venue with a completely different energy.
What stands out most about Kurt and Dan, though, is the way they love each other.
Kurt brings this calm, kind presence, paired with those striking blue eyes and midwestern warmth. Dan brings so much life and energy, especially once the dance floor opens up. Together, they create this balance that feels both grounding and joyful.
They are both so intentional about expressing gratitude and showing up for the people around them. You can feel it in the way they move through the world and in the way they love each other.
It was truly an honor to capture their day.
Cheers to Dan & Kurt and many more years to come.
