Brian and Connor’s MV Skansonia wedding brought together so many of the things I love about filming weddings in Seattle: iconic city views, summer on Lake Union, and a celebration that felt completely personal to them. From their first look at Gas Works Park to sunset overlooking the skyline from the Skansonia, Seattle became part of the story of their entire wedding day.
Brian and Connor’s wedding day felt like a love letter.
It started out on the water, with Gas Works Park as the backdrop. Industrial, iconic, and completely alive with summer energy. Their first look happened right there in the middle of it all, with the city surrounding them and Lake Union stretching out behind. It felt effortless. Just the two of them, stepping into the day together.
A Summer Wedding on the MV Skansonia
Wedding party photos along the Aurora Bridge, wind in everyone’s hair, laughter bouncing between moments. Then over to the MV Skansonia, a historic ferry turned venue, floating right on Lake Union. With panoramic views of the Seattle skyline and water in every direction, it brought that classic Pacific Northwest feeling into the heart of the celebration. Being on the Skansonia felt intentional. A nod to the city, to movement, to building something together while surrounded by the people who matter most.
By the time guests arrived, the energy had fully settled into something warm and anticipatory.
Want to see a completely different side of a downtown Seattle wedding? Kurt & Dan’s Seattle Art Museum wedding traded waterfront views for bold art, moody color, and one seriously beautiful city celebration.
The ceremony was thoughtful and intentional, with soft instrumental music guiding each moment. Brian and Connor walking in together, side by side, meeting at the front with the kind of presence that fills a space without needing to say a word.
Afterward, the day flowed straight into cocktail hour. Champagne, conversation, and that feeling of everyone finally exhaling into the celebration.
Dinner brought everyone together, followed by a series of toasts that felt equal parts heartfelt and hilarious. Stories from family, from best friends, from the people who have seen their relationship grow from the very beginning.
And then the dance floor opened.
It didn’t take long for it to fill. Music up, lights low, and a room full of people completely in it. Sailor hats made an appearance, turning the night into something playful and unexpected in the best way.
As the sun dipped, Brian and Connor slipped away for sunset photos, the city glowing around them. A quiet moment woven into a day that never really slowed down.
Desserts, late night snacks, more dancing, more laughter. The kind of night that stretches on because no one wants it to end.
Brian and Connor created something that felt like them from start to finish. Intentional, joyful, a little adventurous, and full of moments that felt both big and quietly meaningful all at once. Congrats to these two and many more years to come!

Planning an MV Skansonia Wedding?
If you’re getting married on the MV Skansonia or somewhere else around Seattle, I want to hear what you’re dreaming up. Give me the skyline views, the sunset escapes, the sailor hats, the questionable dance moves, and all the little moments that make the day completely yours.
