Taylor and Joe’s Chateau de Lis wedding was equal parts romantic estate wedding and absolute chaos in the best way. From a late-afternoon ceremony and golden-hour portraits to a Thunderstruck drinking game and a live band that kept the party moving, their Portland-area wedding felt elegant without ever taking itself too seriously.
A Romantic Wedding at Chateau de Lis
Taylor and Joe’s wedding day at Chateau de Lis felt like stepping into something timeless, with just the right amount of chaos layered in.
The venue set the tone immediately. Elegant, romantic, and tucked away in a way that made the whole day feel like its own little world. Soft light, open space, and that classic estate atmosphere carried through every part of the celebration, giving Taylor and Joe a beautiful backdrop without making the day feel overly formal.
Weddings like this are exactly why I love filming throughout Portland and the Pacific Northwest: beautiful places are great, but they’re even better when couples fill them with their own personality.
Their ceremony unfolded in the late afternoon, with guests gathered and anticipation building as everything came together. When Taylor walked in, the entire space shifted. There was an ease between them, a kind of familiarity that made the moment feel grounded and real.
From there, the day moved quickly into celebration.
Cocktail hour filled the space with drinks, conversation, and that buzz of everyone reconnecting and settling into the night ahead. By the time guests made their way into the reception, the energy was already building.
Taylor and Joe kicked things off with a full Thunderstruck drinking game for their grand entrance. No easing into it. Just straight into laughter, chaos, and a room full of people instantly locked in.
A live band carried the night, pulling everyone in and keeping the energy high. As the sun dropped, Taylor and Joe slipped away for sunset photos, golden light wrapping around the venue before they jumped right back into the party.
Looking for more Portland wedding inspiration? Nicole & Matt’s Bridal Veil Lakes wedding took things in a completely different direction, with colorful garden-party details, a canoe entrance, and one wildly fun celebration surrounded by the Columbia Gorge.
Taylor and Joe created a wedding that felt bold, playful, and completely their own. Full of movement, full of personality, and packed with moments no one in that room is going to forget. Cheers to Taylor & Joe and many more years to come!
