Brittany and Mark’s Block 41 wedding brought together family, culture, color, and one seriously good party in the heart of downtown Seattle. From a slow morning getting ready together in Queen Anne to a candlelit reception, an incredible lion dance, and a packed dance floor at Block 41, their entire wedding felt deeply personal and completely alive.
Brittany & Mark’s wedding weekend in downtown Seattle felt deeply rooted in family, culture, and joy.
The morning started slowly and warmly in a home in Queen Anne where both sides of the wedding got ready together under the same roof. There was this beautiful sense of closeness woven through the entire day — laughter drifting room to room, champagne glasses clinking, moms helping with final touches, and friends documenting everything on the vintage camcorder: the Dad Cam. The vintage camcorder footage gave the weekend this perfectly imperfect texture that felt straight out of a home movie from the 90s. Grainy hugs, chaotic dance clips, and soft little in-between moments.
A Downtown Seattle Wedding at Block 41
Block 41 brought such an incredible atmosphere to the celebration. The industrial downtown Seattle venue transformed into something romantic and vibrant, filled with candlelight, layered florals, and thoughtful details tucked into every corner. The reception design had gorgeous arrangements surrounded by touches of fruit like grapes and kiwis woven throughout, creating this rich, colorful texture that made everything feel alive and bright.
This is exactly what I love about filming weddings in Seattle: watching couples take an incredible venue and completely transform it with the people, traditions, details, and weird little choices that make the celebration theirs.
A Lion Dance and One Packed Dance Floor
One of the most unforgettable parts of the night was the lion dance performance during the reception. The energy completely exploded as the drums echoed through the venue and guests crowded around cheering. The music jammed all night long and the dance floor was always packed.
For a completely different take on a Seattle wedding, Nathalie & Harry’s UW Center for Urban Horticulture wedding traded downtown industrial vibes for lush greenery, bold color, nostalgic details, and a garden celebration completely packed with personality.
The entire day carried this feeling of warmth and movement. Elegant and stylish, but also deeply sentimental. It could not have felt more gorgeous or alive. Brittany and Mark were incredibly intentional with their wedding day, just as they are with the love and care they have for each other. Cheers to Brittany & Mark and many more years to come!
